About Us

Gauranteed 100% Natural Meat

We raise only 100% Natural Meats.

Guaranteed to be free from growth hormones, steroids, pesticides, insecticides, and chemicals. Our animals are humanely raised, grain finished, and U.S.D.A. Inspected.

The Rice Farm has been in our family for 4 generations, and all this time on the same land. Our great grandpa, Matthew Rice, immigrated from Ireland at the beginning of the last century. He bought this land so he could farm and try to make a living (1905-1928). This is about the same time he met his wife Anna March and they were married on the same farm we live on today.

They had three children; Janet, Robert, and Marie. Robert (Bob) continued to farm after the death of his dad (1929-1978). Bob married Rose Sturgis and they had three children: Judy, Roy, and Robert.

Roy married Carol Rider and they had two children: Sandi and Randy. Roy started to farm after the death of his dad (1978-1995).

Randy met his wife Lesa Berry and when Roy retired, Randy and Lesa started to farm (1995-present day). They have two children: Remington and Alexandra. Maybe someday we will have 5 generations (we can only hope).

As you can tell we have been farming here for a long time. During this time we have seen a lot of good times, bad times, wars, depression, and many changes. In all this time we have never forgot who our customers are.

Why do we sell what we do? With today's meats you can not tell where or how it was raised, what it was fed, or the condition of the animal prior to slaughter. We at Rice Farm do not use any chemicals to raise our animals; they graze freely when possible.

We take such a different direction because today animals are raised as fast as possible, about 12 to 18 months. The use of growth hormones and steroids is common in the meat industry, along with other terrible practices. Livestock are confined to overcrowded pens and feed lots. Some livestock never walk on grass pastures let alone see daylight.

We at Rice Farm raise our animals to roam pastures in the summer, and in the winter they can go outside whenever they want. We grow all our own crops to feed during the winter months and all of our animals drink spring fed water. For our cattle it takes about 2 1/2 years to be ready for sale, our lambs about 10 months, hogs 120 days and chickens 90 days.

When it is time for one of our animals to be processed it is done so in the most humane way at a U.S.D.A. inspected facility. For our beef and lamb, it is let to hang for 10 days to age. On the tenth day we personally oversee the cutting and vacuum sealed packaging. We guarantee the quality of our meats. We even have a notarized affidavit stating this.

We invite you to try our all natural meats and you will see and taste the difference.

Thank You,

Rice Farm
